What makes our beef stand out from the rest of the pack is our superior Angus genetics mixed with the Akaushi bloodline. Akaushi cattle are known for their high percentage of intramuscular fat (IMF) that creates intense, beautiful marbling in their steaks. This IMF is what gives the beef its juiciness and flavor. In most other breeds of cattle, the IMF is known to have a high concentration of unhealthy saturated fat. However, not so with Akaushi cattle. Through genetics and a carefully managed diet, Akaushi cattle produce an IMF with a higher content of monounsaturated fat relative to saturated fat. These monounsaturated fats are touted as “Heart Healthy” and can help lower the risk for heart disease and other cardiovascular ailments. Another added benefit of Akaushi beef is its high concentration of oleic acid. Oleic acid is another heart-healthy compound mostly found in olive oil and is credited with promoting healthy blood pressure and cholesterol levels.
